The mission statement of PPL is:

‘PROSPECTS Plastics Ltd. aims to significantly reduce the amount of waste plastic being sent to landfill sites in Lancashire by profitably manufacturing an expanding range of quality products from post consumer plastic waste, thereby closing the local recycling loop. PPL will, through commercial viability, work towards environmental, economic and social ‘triple bottom line’ achievements.’

The new company was established on 22nd February 2006, the aim of which is to develop a business proposal which will offer a unique and innovative contribution to Lancashire’s strategy of transforming the huge amount of household waste generated in the county into a valuable resource, by increasing the amount of re-use and recycling. The objective of PPL is to set up and run a plastics extrusion plant that will manufacture wood/plastic composite and pure plastic profiles made from post-consumer waste.
