Nature Walks with Photography 

Monthly walks starting in April to local nature reserves and woodlands including places of interest.  See the Poster for dates. There will be lots of specialist walks such as dawn chorus, fungi and bats organised through the Conservation In Hyndburn project and Roger Plum.

Wildlife and Nature

Take part in our identification, surveying and recording sessions - butterflies, amphibians, water invertebrates, bats, moths, trees and much much more.  Find out more on the Activities page.


Tuesdays sessions take place twice a month and include traditional homespun crafts and lots of chatter!  These Craft and Chatteer sessions are drop-in sessions - no need to book.  See Poster for more information.

Paper Magic

Paper Magic is not just about card making and scrap booking it is about papier mache, fancy cutting, collage, decoupage, folding and manipulation such as box making or sculting flowers for decorations and origami. paper magic is now part of Crafts at PROSPECTS held on a Tuesday twice a month.  See Poster for more information.

Arts and Crafts - Saturday sessions

Saturdays every two weeks. Crafts from waste materials and/or using traditional methods and natural materials such as wood.  All 18+ welcome.

People attending Hobby, arts and crafts will take part in activities to benefit themselves and the community, interact socially and have a laugh.  
At the Hobby, Arts and Craft sessions they are currently working with wood and creating an artefact using a fret saw, this will be followed by pyrography in January 2017.
If anyone has other ideas for working with materials such as wood, metals, ceramics or glass we would like to hear from them

Cycle Hyndburn

Cycle Maintenance Workshps.  For those who have never ridden a bike, those wanting to get back on a bike, improvers and advanced cyclists.

A new Hyndburn Cycle Forum has been formed to look at improving cycling in Hyndburn.  At PROSPECTS we will be delivering practical activities for groups and individuals.  See the Cycling page for more information.

WEEKLY cycle rides will start in Spring

Please contact PROSPECTS for more information.  Look in the What's On Calendar for more Cycle Hyndburn events and Hyndburn CTC.  These will be aimed at beginners and those preferring to ride off road.

We are now offering an opportunity for volunteers and people attending activity sessions, workshops and courses to work towards AQA Unit Awards.  Please see a list of courses that we can deliver HERE.  Students work at their own pace at activity sessions and workshops but some courses will be over a specific timeframe.  We are also offering a range of Formal courses that are HSE approved.
