2nd October (Tuesday) = CRAFTS AND WILDLIFE - Crafts at PROSPECTS - drop in sessions -
Sessions are held at 54, Broadway, Accrington.  We  wll be creating items for the Winter Wonderland Christmas window display.  Join Us details on the poster for October onwards.
6th & 27th October (Saturday) = Hedgehog House - Postponed - see 20th October
9th October (Tuesday) = Sowing and Growing Herbs and Salads.  Accrington Womens Centre Gardening Workshop at the Women's Community Courtyard, from 1:30pm to 2:30pm.  Sowing and Growing herbs and salads in containers for the Garden and Home with Julie Livesey. Poster HERE with contact details etc.!
14th October (Sunday) = FUNGI WALK  HERE
19th October (Friday) = Willow Bird Feeders to take home and Flying bugs/insects, to celebrate Improving Hyndbuirn's Wildlife, for the PROSPECTS Christmas window.  Session 1 with Julie, Pip Cottage.  Details HERE and how to BOOK.
20th & 27th October (Saturday) = Hedgehog House - Hedgehogs will be looking for somewhere warm and dry to hibernate.  Help them by creating a house ready for them to occupy in October..  You will learn basic woodworking skills, and finises for the house and learn about its value for the hedgehogs in your backyard or garden. The second session is for people to complete their hedgehog house. This activity is part of the People’s Postcode Lottery funded Improving Hyndburn’s Wildlife project.

23rd October (Tuesday) = Willow Creations to celebrate Improving Hyndbuirn's Wildlife, for the PROSPECTS Christmas window.  Session 2 with Julie, Pip Cottage. .  Details HERE and how to BOOK.
24th October (Wednesday) = AUTUMN SOWING at Woodnook Community Allotment from 1:30pm - 3:30pm, Autumn Sowing at the allotment and Salads to Containers. Julie will be on hand to offer advice and help for people to weed and sow. Please contact Julie at Prospects for more information.  Poster HERE with contact details etc.
25th October (Thursday) = Half-term Activities with Wildlife Charlie.  Please book soon so we can order resources and gifts for take home bags and enough lunch for everyone.  Must book by Friday, 19th October please as this will be a popular event.  Contact to BOOK and reserve your places for 7-10 year olds.  Contact Barbara if you have school aged children aged 5-7 please.  Please see the poster HERE with more details.

Improving Hyndburn's Wildlife Project 

2018 = Create a wildlife habitat in your backyard, garden, community centre/space, allotment, place of worship, cemetery, railway station etc.  Find out more HERE and POP into PROSPECTS to chat to Barbara, Improving Hyndburn's Wildlife, Project Officer.  Supported by players of the People's Postcode Lottery awarding funds from POSTCODE LOCAL TRUST.

PROSPECTS holds regular VOLUNTEER activities at a number of sites around Hyndburn.  Please click on the sites below to find an activity near you.   Click on the What's On above for dates and times.

Monday and Tuesday (see the September Newsletter and What's On above for details of volunteering opportunities on Monday 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th October AND Tuesday 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th October.  Sessions are 10:30 to 2:30 or as much as you can do!)
