Baxenden Community Forum

Since Baxenden Community Forum was set up in 1996, it's member have been involved in environmental projects in the area such as litter-picks and footpath maintenance, mainly on the Baxenden Jubilee Walk, which was created by the Panel.
The Forum has also worked in partnership with other local groups and organisations such as Baxenden Primary School and Hollins Technology College. Students from the Primary School were invited to make bird and bat boxes which were then installed along Woodnook Vale, Baxenden. Students from the Hollins made the distinctive Jubilee Walk waymarkers that can be seen aroung Baxenden.
As a result of the Community Appraisal in 2005, the Forum made the decision to concentrate on maintaining existing projects whilst continuing their fundraising efforts for the proposed community centre.
More recently, the group have helped to create 4 living willow scupltures along Woodnook Vale which change appearance from season to season. You can see two willow seats, a screen and a willow arbour.
