Prosperity Recycling Ltd is a not-for-profit social enterprise which started out as an idea developed by the Clayton-le-Moors & Altham PROSPECTS Panel. The aim was to create a company which produces a variety of recycled goods, whilst also providing training and employment opportunities to people with disabilities.

The company was launched in 2003 as a joint venture between the PROSPECTS Foundation and Trinity Community Partnerhsip - a charity specialising in employment and training services for lea people who are have suffered from mental health illness or who have physical or learning disabilities.

The initial set up of Prosperity Recycling was funded by the European Regional Development Fund , European Social Fund, PACT, Lancashire Environmental Fund, Northwest Development Agency and Hyndburn Borough Council. After receiving help with setting up, Prosperity is now a self financing business.

The company's premises in Accrington houses three workshops each handling a different waste material from which products are made; plastics, wood and cardboard. You can purchase a wide variety of products from bird tables and hedgehog boxes to picnic benches and playground equipment.
